Okay so maybe I’m not that seasoned. But I did study abroad in Granada, Spain this past fall and I did learn a few things that I want to share.

#1 Choose the right program

Recognize that your program choice will make all the difference in your study abroad experience. Hear from students who have previously studied in the program(s) that you are interested. No brochure or glossy website will be as candid. Some programs have a LOT of structure, where you may travel on prescribed trips frequently, while others will leave you to fend for yourself. You may be one of a thousand students or one of 20. You may be in a dorm with American students, foreign students, or in a home-stay.
